Maui Soul Yoga was founded in January 2008 by local Maui Yoga teacher, Jennifer Lynn. Our mission is to create a safe and inspiring space for people of all levels to come together in celebration and discovery of their inner and outer worlds and the relationship between them. We endeavor to teach each student that making changes in their bodies will affect not only their physical well-being but also their mental clarity, their emotional stability and ultimate will open their hearts. Basically, we want everyone to discover that when we make ourselves feel great, it is much easier to be kind, creative and effective human beings. Our vision is that yoga becomes a regular part of everyone’s life. When the power of taking time away from the day to day to care for one’s self is realized, our priorities will shift to include a regular yoga practice. Whether we are advanced yogis or stiff beginners, we all need time and space to assess the conditions of our bodies, minds and hearts and reach for balance and well-being. Maui Soul Yoga aims to make this possibility accessible by offering classes for beginners and advanced students and by choosing a location with high population density and (until now) no yoga studio.
Some Special things we offer
Shower Facilities – After a sweaty class, if you’re headed into the office, you’ll want to shower and leave the studio feeling fresh. Maui Soul Yoga provides shower facilities including soap and shampoo. For a $5 fee, to help with energy cost and maintenance, you are welcome to use our large and private shower. Please bring your own towel.
Great Yoga Mats – Because we want you to have the best yoga experience ever, we offer Manduka mats to rent or buy. With a Manduka mat you have plenty of spring and zero slip. Jennifer has owned her Manduka for 13 years and it is still going strong.
Towels – Don’t you hate it when you forget your towel and find you have nothing with which to wipe the sweat out of your eyes? We don’t want that to happen so we provide sweat towels as part of our service. We simply ask that you place them in the hamper on your way out.
Refreshments – Pure water and tea are offered after classes. When available, young coconut water will be for sale after class.
Beginner Classes – The last place stiff people want to be is in the middle of a room full of athletic bendable yogis! Maui Soul Yoga offers Yoga for Stiff Guys and Yoga Basics classes for the very beginners and the ultra stiff. See our schedule for days and times.
